 Mission

Dogs in shelters and humane societies have food, safety, vet care, and volunteers loving them, but it almost always seems we forget one thing- comfort. Nearly seven million companion animals enter shelters each year, and of that, most dogs only have a cold cement floor or a thin sheet to sleep on. Comfort4Canines strives to provide this extra commodity. By accepting donations and passing them on to shelter dogs, Comfort4Canines hopes to provide comfort in the form of toys, beds, and blankets.

Our beds and blankets will allow shelter dogs to cuddle up and have a good night of sleep. Our toys will bring joy to shelter dogs when they are alone, or in need of a friend. These two simple supplies will bring happiness to shelter dogs, and studies have shown that when you give a dog a blanket or toy, they are more relaxed and, therefore, more adoptable. We try as hard as we can to create a comforting environment where dogs can wait patiently for their new family.

How We Got Here

In May of 2010, commercials for the Pepsi Refresh Project aired on television. They announced that they would be giving away millions of dollars to projects for a better world. Mollie Watson quickly wrote up her application, and submitted it in for the contest. After several months of attracting supporters and spreading the word about our efforts, our 1st place spot in the Pepsi Refresh Project landed us five thousand dollars. While this money will soon be used to begin the spread and achievement of our mission, Comfort4Canines will not end at that. Instead, we will reach other shelter dogs, and continue to spread our message. Why? Because every dog deserves a little love.
